Questionable pump and customer service
By Jeff on Feb 9, 2022
I saw many positive reviews around the Web on this aquarium and plan to use it equally a nano tank on my desk. After setting information technology up and filling with water, I fired upward the pump and was greeted with a loud buzzing noise. I checked the tubing and impeller in the pump and all looked fine--still buzzed like a mini chainsaw. I called customer service, and they agreed to send me a new pump under warranty. Only received it about a week later in a minimally padded soft envelope, inside of which is the new pump in an unprotected and smashed box. Not certain how they expected it to arrive undamaged, and I will be surprised if the pump works at all. Gild if y'all're feeling lucky; otherwise, look elsewhere for another tank with a improve pump. … more

Nice nano aquarium
By DeeZ on Jan 24, 2022
The aquarium is nice, glass with plastic back where the filter is housed, menses is adaptable. Glass chapeau slides back to feed fish. Slap-up starter tank
By raven on Feb 21, 2022
Recently upgraded from an Aqueon mini bow to this tank and very happy I did. Very sleek, lots of infinite for plants and big decor, and pump is very quiet. Flow adjustments on filter makes it a good fit for bettas. I upgraded the light to a plant lite and did a few modifications to the filter tube so the dorsum compartment got some surface water movement.

Bad Boy Betta aka Triple B
By mopo on Jan iv, 2022
My Betta is a bad boy and was terrorizing my nano tank. He decided the shrimp were snacks and then moved on to gustatory modality testing the antenna on the mystery snail. I'one thousand not sure if was a clever program to go a deluxe accomodations or only his nature. The tank is a very overnice tank and I am very satisfied with the purchase. The curved glass on the front of the tank, the pedestal, glass top, flip up light and filtration make for a classy package. The pump menstruation is excessive for a Betta simply information technology is adaptable and when turned downwardly works perfectly. I don't recall the light will support many plants simply am hoping low lite plants will work. Great piffling aquarium
By Marineland on Feb xi, 2022
For the cost, this is a fantastic little aquarium. The pattern is sleek and elegant. It's modest enough to fit on a desktop, but big enough to be attractive. The born filtration makes artful and applied sense.

Dainty v gallon tank for betta and shrimp
By tdrum on Jan 13, 2022
Before ownership this aquarium kit from Marineland, I did a LOT of research. Most too much. But it was between this tank and another popular 5 gallon kit, and so I wanted to be certain I made a well-informed decision. Office of what ultimately led me to chose this kit over the other i: affordability (the other one was 2.v times more $) and many positive reviews (many commented how Marineland Portrait was well-constructed and cute). So far, the quality of workmanship seems corking and information technology is a very pretty tank indeed! However, several people raised concerns that a taller portrait shape is not equally suitable as a longer shape, with the latter offering more swimming space and water/oxygen exchange Before buying this aquarium kit from Marineland, I did a LOT of research. Almost as well much. But information technology was between this tank and another popular 5 gallon kit, and so I wanted to be sure I made a well-informed decision. Part of what ultimately led me to chose this kit over the other one: affordability (the other one was 2.5 times more $) and many positive reviews (many commented how Marineland Portrait was well-constructed and cute). And then far, the quality of workmanship seems neat and it is a very pretty tank indeed! Nevertheless, several people raised concerns that a taller portrait shape is not as suitable equally a longer shape, with the latter offering more swimming space and h2o/oxygen exchange SA; afterward having my betta in the tank for several weeks now, I would hold with this--I wish he had more pond infinite. The rear filtration compartment does not seem big enough for a heater, so putting it in the main tank takes upwardly valuable swimming real estate. There is a very small, ill-shaped little notch in 1 rear corner that is supposed to hold the heater string in identify, merely it is awkward and ill-placed so the cord just lamely drapes over the dorsum. Likewise as several other people had referenced, the filtration system is overnice in that y'all can dial downwards the flow rate to brand it more suitable for bettas; so far, this seems to exist working okay. I did beef up the filtration though, with extra plain and carbon-infused flosses (mechanical and chemical, respectively) and boosted biological filter material (ceramic rings). Few other small downsides: the within glass and black filter compartment divider are very reflective, which caused quite a bit of stress for my betta peculiarly when he was new to his tank--a lot of flaring happened! Also, the well-plumbing equipment lid (which you may desire to adhere a suction cup to equally a handle because it is hard to take hold of and maneuver otherwise) is very nice to have, but it does cause such a closed-system that condensation is quite obnoxious. So far, though, I am actually enjoying the setup--Jonah Betta and Amano shrimps seem happy, too! … more

Satisfied purchase. The tank arrives in good condition. I gear up it up for my betta (haven't got withal). The filter is quiet and the calorie-free is efficient for plants. My lotus seeds grow very well.

Not bad Tank
By Lemons1 on Jan 31, 2022
This is the perfect tank for my desk-bound. The pump was a piddling potent for my guppies and piddling shrimp so I had my husband drill a few small holes in the menstruum tube to release of that force per unit area into the tank.Works great!

Did non disappoint
By 5Gallons on Oct 22, 2022
It's not super tranquillity, ive had quieter pumps merely non mad at it ( sounds like information technology's vibrating confronting something). Like shooting fish in a barrel to fix, came nicely packaged and delivered without breaking. Pleasantly surprised to discover information technology has a " nighttime mode" and light can be turned blue. Perfect for a new beta soon when it'due south done cycling
